‘The biggest, most outrageous pieces by this German-based jeweller are the most compelling, like the huge glass fragments (making the most of a smashed crystal bowl) threaded on pearls so that they throw out diffuse light. Another piece (a necklace again) is weighed down by two turquoise buds with red mountain coral stamens. Tactile and tribal, even the smaller brooches and rings have an oversized, organic presence.’
